I am a triathlete!
It's official, I finished my first triathlon! With a respectable time of 2:04:53. The swim was terrible because my goggles fogged over and I had no visibility. The bike was tough but much better than I expected and the run was ok but could have been faster. I finished where 70 others dropped out! Pictures to post tomorrow, including the hilarious wet suit shot. Not to brag, but pre-race this morning I weighed 112 pounds...how is it possible to look so terrible in that damn suit? I guess rubber isn't flattering to most people. I can't wait for next year! We have two tri's planned for sure and are looking for one more. I'm also thinking of doing a couple road races in early spring.
Before the race Jack told me he'd miss me if I DIED! Which is just a result of all the joking about the rescue squad having to pull me off the bottom of the lake. After the race he said "Hey, mom, no skinned knees! You didn't fall off your bike!" Sahara made me my own #1 finisher ribbon and wrote a note that told me I "finished first place".
