It's been an eventful week. See if I can catch you up.
On the 13th Brian and I went to JC Penny's and got me an engagement ring. It's white gold and came with the wedding ring. They snap together. Very cool. Since it's this time of year they are clearancing all their 2004 jewelry and knocking off another 30% for the hell of it. We ended up getting $94 off. With my 9 month late tax return and his sale of the Grand Am we got my rings and paid several hundred in bills, major wah-HOO!
Brian and I both had to work that night, odd because it was Saturday. My mom came over and babysat Natalie. I came home (at 11pm) and not only was my baby asleep but she'd bathed her and cleaned my house! Mom rocks!
I started doing Pilates on Monday, got myself a DVD, a mat, and a couple 3 pound weights. It's a LOT harder than it looks, but I'm way better at this than I thought I would be. Today will be the 6th day straight I've done it and I love it! I feel so much taller and stronger afterwards.
As you all know I work with 3 & 4 year olds. I know that at this age, as hard as it is for me to think about, it's normal for them to explore their bodies and notice they have "parts," and furthermore the other sex has different parts and maybe they'll even check those out, too. But I don't care what anyone says, catching two 4 year olds going down on each other is disturbing. I didn't know any of that stuff for about 4 years after they do. It's totally fucked up and I'm afraid for these kids. I'm just a helper so I'm not supposed to talk to the parents, and realistically I'd rather not be the one to do it, but I don't think the lead teacher or anyone else plans to do anything about this and it's freaking me out so unbelievably. It's wrong, and the girl in question is not the first one this boy has done this with. When they were caught, he seriously put the fear in me. The look on his face looked like pissed off sexual predator, like Ted Bundy when the one girl got away. I absolutely KNOW I'm not reading into this or exaggerating. I prolly shouldn't even be talking about this since one of you is my boss's son, but I needed to get this out. I apologize if this is freaking any of you out.
In other more happy news, Natalie has 5 teeth now. Three on the bottom and two on the top. She didn't get her two front teeth on the top like a normal baby, she got her eyeteeth first! I'm a little worried that if the two middle ones don't pop through soon the eyeteeth will crowd them but her Dr says it's too soon to worry. It's truly amazing how much she's growing and changing everyday. I try to make sure that I stop and appreciate her and the other good things I have at least once a day. Things may be difficult but they are still far better than they were a year ago, 2 years ago, 5 years ago, 10 years ago.
How about you?
