planting

I have been spending too much time indoors. And really sunshine is essential for my mental health. The problem is it has been cold. And I swear cold is physically painful when I am pregnant. I know that theoretically I could just wear warmer clothes but it never seems to happen, not to mention the challenge of finding warm stuff that fits over belly.

But anyway it was in the 70's today. Back pain was manageable (at least at first - then I just had to breath through it). It is doing this funky wrap around thing that hurts under my ribs. So I got 3 of the new roses planted in the ground complete with composting, mulching, and decent wells (which I hope helps them survive through the worst of the summer). The fourth one only made it to a large pot to be planted at a later date. The planting of that particular one involves transplanting a different one and making some placement decisions. I need to look up the particular type to see how big it will get. Not to mention digging all the top layers of dirt off the remaining established roses and replacing it with compost. Hoping the compost will make them bloom without needing fertilizer. Which I already feel bad about using, but I love the blooms. And our soil is horrible (thin and with minimal nutrients).

So I feel I at least accomplished something. This is a nice break from the stagnant rut I had fallen into.

In other news a particular disk slipped back into place so my arm is no longer numb and has actually stayed there :). Apparently I already have really loose ligaments so my spine doesn't stay where it is supposed to, and the pregnancy hormones make it much worse. That, my tendency towards swayback, and my size vs. the size of babies I have explain the constant pain. I'm trying not to whine about it though, because the more I obsess about it the worse it gets. There is a particular mental state that helps (now getting there is the trick). Otherwise laying down at carefully staggered intervals helps. Along with sitting as little as possible.

I need to find a project.
