B1 testing

Last week was rough. She wanted him to draw and he didn't want to - finally she asked me to leave the room, and it helped. Of course his level of drawing sucks - it's below a 2 year old - but what do you want? He's done so well on his mind body crossover issues. He'll sort out drawing and holding a pencil eventually. Or he won't and he'll do ( Read more... )

I think you mean B1...
I'm so glad that he did well on the IQ...that is probably the most important once...the other stuff will take time and patience but it will work out.
Does he have any muscle tone issues?

And no, he has no muscle tone issues. He's quite strong for his size.

so I guess other things can effect the holding the pencil and stuff. Gil feels strong...but he has flexible joints which gives him trouble with holding the pencil. He does enjoy drawing now, but he doesn't draw like the other kids do...he has his own style and it's hard to get him to practice writing. I think it's because it's hard for him.

B1 doesn't really have a dominant hand. It;s getting better though...

well he's 9 mos. younger then Gil. Time really is a major factor...I can't remember when Gil started having a dominant hand...but I know it wasn't on time.
Last year he wasn't in to drawing, he would participate more in working with clay. This year is in to drawing, he just uses one color most of the time. He still doesn't like coloring as he needs to stay within the lines.
When you figure out a way to make it fun then you can get them to try. the OT is really good about that, though she's strict.
