Wow! I've done a lot of things wedding related in the past two weeks or so...

First off, its official.  We have our Church booked.  We unfortunately had to change the date to March 28, 2009.  March 14 was officialy taken and a firend of a friend of ours is already booked on the 14th.  One of our groomsmen would miss out on either her wedding or our wedding, so we had no other choice. **cries** I'm still not excited about 03.28.09  The only good thing is that it is 3 days after P's birthday and 4 days before mine.

Pics!

Here we are starting to visit different venues....

First we visited DoubleTree Claremont......

Thoughts  At first I was really excited to have a 6 hour time frame to to be able to select the time we wanted the reception to start.  Since we thought at first we we were going to have a 10am wedding, that was a plus to be able to select the time we wanted the reception to start.

A nice venue, it was recently remodeled.  I wasn't so happy with the catering manager.  Not that I didn't like him, he was just too flamboyant for my liking.  I don't think I could handle that for a long period of time, especially FH.

One of the rooms.  This is actually smaller than the other room you will see a few pics down.  It only looks bigger because the ceiling is higher.

Typical table set up

Where the head table would go.

A standard chair with no cover

This is the other room that is smaller, but it was set up for a wedding.  It has chair covers w/sashes and table overlays.  Very nice.

Their centerpiece

A view of the majority of the room

Candy buffets....

Outside area....

Since its a hotel this is the inside of the main lobby...

Etiwanda Gardens.......

Thoughts...Nice place, has lots of greenery.  I liked the famous koi pond.  Good package deals.  I like how they provide chair sashes and table overlays.  Very nice staff to work with.

Darn this picture didnt rotate...but one of the fountains

This is such a neat centerpiece.  Adds nice height to the room

Someone's favors.

These cheesy backgrounds you can get w/rope lighting.  Sorry, not our thing.

I did like this idea where you can hang this fabric and drape it from the light above the dance floor.

Hallway looking down towards the bathroom.

The area where you would have the guests check in.

The famous waterfall and koi pond.

And finally Sierra Lakes....

Thoughts  I liked how when you walked into the room you have the beautiful windows and didn't feel trapped inside.  However the chairs are a little too dark for me.

The water feature.

Look at the surrounding mountains.  Its just beautiful.  This is the gazebo where you would get married at/in if you had the ceremony there.

Lots of place to sit outside.  It wraps all around.  Guests can have their hors dourves

Phew, that was a lot of pics.   I think that's all we are limited to since we already selected the church.  There aren't a lot of reception locations in the area.  My top choice right now?  The last place.  It wasn't the cheapest, but not too much of a price difference between the middle place (which is 2nd choice right now).  And the food choices are better, plus it already includes the cake.  I want to book already and just make everything official.  I have only told two of my bridesmaids!  I tell my maid of honor next week!  I'm excited to see her.  She lives up north and don't see her that often anymore.  next entry...dresses....
