...just because i'm happy it happened
for some time now, carlo and carlo's mom (tita mayaw) have been wanting to invite my family over for dinner. this time, they got their chance. carlo and his family invited my family over for an early christmas dinner at their house in Laguna. hahaha sobrang napagod pamilya ko sa layo ng mga bahay naming dalawa! but for us, we're used to it already. anyway, we were invited for dinner on Saturday evening, last saturday. but since my dad couldn't make it, we moved it to sunday, December 4, 2005.
it's fun to see carlo nervous! he was so nervous, not with my parents, but because he wanted the night to be perfect. he was even telling me that they've been prepareing since tuesday of last week for the dinner. they cleaned the house and his mom even bought him a new rack for him to fix and organize his loose trinkets in his room.
come sunday evening, i wasn't nervous at all. but carlo was!!!! hehehehhe.... when our families met, i wasn't scared. maybe it was because i knew that when it comes to food, my family would be fine. but i gave carlo and tita a heads-up with letting them know MALAKAS KAMI KUMAIN. we stayed in the veranda, well-lit with the christmas lights prepared by carlo. it was a cool evening... sarap. parang kaming nagreretreat. wehehehe they prapared a raclette dinner for us. yummmmyyyy...... it was steak, sausages, chicken fillet, pickled onions, marbled potatoes, and melted raclette cheese on top of it! since we were having cheese, we only drank hot tea or wine (red/white). prior to the heavy meal, we had a wild mushroom soup and a very delicious salad (perfected by tita). weheheheh
my family had such a good time.... it was nice seeing them that way. by the way, the people in that dinner were the following: dad, mom, manay jing, manay cheekee, manay kring, me, carlo liban, kuya louieben, tito ed (carl's stepdad), tita mayaw, and camille (carl's sister). it was nice seeing both families talk. as usual... nineniyerbos si carlo. ako naman, lax na lax. wehehehehe after dinner, the oldies stayed in the veranda to talk and socialize while the kids went to look at carlo's room. as usual, naaliw na naman sila sa kwarto ni carlo. carl designed kasi his room and they were.... amazed. he really did maximize the space. after the room, we stayed at the living room and sang and played the piano. it was fun......... nakakagaan ng loob.
that evening was nice. it was pleasant, actually.
as for carlo, he was very happy with how it turned out.
when we were about to leave already, he embraced me and said, "thank you! i love you!"
