Time Once Again to Play "Catch-Up"

I can't believe how much time flys, really. Of course I can never seem to find enough time to get things done but I don't understand how it is that 7 weeks can go by without me posting anything in my LJ. I could have sworn it wasn't that long ago that I made an update.

Since my last post we have been to Anime Boston, celebrated my birthday, my father's birthday, Allura's birthday, & my Sister's. Mother's Day and Father's Day have come and gone and we've also been to Anime Next. Add somewhere in there the multitude of jobs we work and the usual business of trying to keep up with laundry, dishes, house work, and finally getting the garden in and I guess it is no wonder I can't keep track of time.

Let's get to the highlights:

Anime Next sucked. Sales were down, their attendence was down, and it was held in the crappiest shit-hole of a convention center I have had the displeasure of being in. On the plus side the people working for the con center were non-union and were all very nice. Quite the switch from the ones working the Meadowlands complex, they were all assholes for the most part.

Despite all the negitive factors we still did ok enough to come home and pay the bills, barely. Some of that I am sure we owe to our friends that had an extra room in their suite. We got a free hotel room all weekend and even stayed the night Sunday which we usually don't.

In what very little free time I've had in the past 2 months I started playing a PS3 RPG called Cross Edge. I was really enjoying it but I am sure that most "normal" people won't appreciate it as it is a hardcore JRPG with cel shaded graphics and a lot of 2-D artwork. Anyone who is a fan of all the anime related titles like the Atelier series, AR Tonelico, Disgaea, and simmilar stuff should definately check it out. One of the things that interested me the most about it was the fact that it included characters from Vampire Savior (Dark Stalkers). The music is quite great and I hope to pick up the soundtrack at some point.

The rest of my so-called free time before Anime Next was spent on watching all of the 1990s TV series "American Gothic". An interesting Horror/Thriller Friday night TV series I used to like to watch back when it was originally broadcast in 1995 I think it was. I wanted to finish it up before our trip so I could bring it to Rosemary so she could watch it. Thankfully it was only one season so I could do so. Through a phone conversation I found out it was also one of her favorite TV shows from days gone by. She didn't even know it was on DVD. She was very happy when I handed her the box, I told her I didn't want it back until she watched the whole thing and I didn't care how long it took.

Summer is here and the garden is finally in. The heat is fianally cranking up outside so it is time to get the A/C in. Because of Anime Boston happening right when I normally plant my garden I was running behind on getting it done. Then after AB I was so tired I could hardly do anything. Then my asthma started bothering me and I might have even had bronchitis or something. Durring this time Laban was sick for about 2 weeks after we got back from AB. By the time everyone was feeling better it was time to leave for Anime Next. Hence I didn't finish putting in the garden until last night.

Now that I've spent at least a little time catching up on life here on Livejournal I better get back to my current task of laundry and working on stuff for Black Knight. I can't say when I will update again, what I won't say is I am going to keep up this time because that never happens. Oh well......
