And I speak from experience, not the media.
When I was a child, two pit bulls lived next door to us. They were nasty animals that didn't want anything to do with anyone else but their owners, and they almost killed one of my own dogs THROUGH THE FENCE, as he grabbed her with his mouth when she got too close.
Pit Bulls might be fun for their owners, but they are meat grinders with feet as far as I'm concerned. People are terrified of them for a reason; they are unpredictable and they are deadly.
The gene pool for these animals is purposefully diminished to make deadly creatures that feed on each other. That kind of genetic history makes for a difficult animal to control. I had a purebread chow that was hard to control and I feel that because of his inbreeding he lacked a certain depth to his mental faculties that made him less docile. Because of this I wonder if buying purebred is a good idea at all.
Mutts are much better dogs.
