THE MISSION

"We welcome you to read what was never seen,
to visit strange new worlds,
to explore the “what if”,
to seek out new prose,
to boldly go where no reviewer has gone before..."

THE RULES

0.) ALL PARTICIPANTS MUST HAVE A TQL ACCOUNT.  NO EXCEPTIONS!

1.) Reviews must be entered into the archive between 00:00:01am October 8, 2011 and 11:59:59pm on December 31, 2011 (the community runs on Pittsburgh time; EDT [GMT -4]).  This provides you with plenty of time to hunt and time for writers to post new stories.

2.) TQL administrators are not eligible to participate, as they will be scoring each review.

3.) Authors may NOT review their own stories.

4.) In order for each review to qualify, you HAVE to be logged in when reviewing to ensure that the review is clearly marked with your username.
(When logged in your username on the review turns into a link. Reviews with non-link username will not be scored.)

5.) In order for each review to qualify, it MUST be posted with a link to the review page in the Review Hunt 2011 board (Forum > Games & Competitions > Review Hunt 2011 > Topic with your username).  You can either post one review or a whole list of reviews at a time, it does not matter.  If it's not in that board for us to see, you won't get scored for it.

6.) Only one review per reviewer and story will be scored, so though you are more than welcome to review each chapter on multi-chaptered stories, only the one of your reviews with highest word count on said story will be scored.

7.) Generic copy and paste reviews will not be scored. (ie: “Great story”, “well done”, “Read it, thanx” etc.)
You need to include something in your review that shows that you have actually read the story in question.

8.) Rude and/or flaming reviews are not allowed and will result in disqualification from the hunt and a warning. Constructive critique is of course always allowed as long as it is worded in a helpful manner.

9.) Not a rule, more of a suggestion: Try branching outside of your comfort zone or comfort 'series.'  You might be surprised by what you find.

10.) Winners will be announced on January 20, 2012.  Trophies and prizes to be awarded shortly thereafter.

THE POINTS

11.) Points will be assigned in the following manner:

a.) Base points are awarded equal to word count  (ie: A review of 101 words earns 101 base points)

b.) Bonus points - In order to improve feedback quality over quantity, bonus points are added as follow:

1-150   +0
151-300  +10
301-450  +20
451-600  +30
601-750  +40
750+       +50

c.) Additional Bonus points - Bonus points will be added on top of the constant scale above to reviews on unreviewed or one-review stories.

First review on stories: +50
Second review on stories: +25
Third review on stories: +10
Fourth review and beyond: +0

     Link to Review Page: http://community.truequeerlove.com/link_to_review_page.php

Remember, it's only important to review a story on the site before anyone else does to earn additional bonus points, so take your time reporting them in the forum. Consider your fellow TQL:ers and report only once per day as to not spam the “Most Recent” page.

THE PRIZES

The challenges/competitions will be awarding a Gold, Silver, and Bronze trophy to our winners of this year's challenges/competitions, and gift card
prizes to the gold winners.  The gift card will be redeemable at an as-yet-unannounced online store (possibly Amazon).
In addition all participants will be awarded a banner to proudly flash around the net as a thank you for their participation.

With the Review Hunt 2011 starting today, THIS is a perfect opportunity for authors to come join the family and start posting their stories at TQL as the reviewers score more points for reviewing stories with little to no reviews at all.
Please note that we validate all new submissions.
