For those of you who know Fiona (fionissima ), you'll know several things. It might be her love for Doctor Who, Ashes to Ashes, and all things Jane Austen that she expounds in a lovely way about over at her journal. If you know her a little better than most, you'll also know that her birthday was in... April. But I'm sure, if there's one thing that everyone knows and loves about Fiona, it is that she is pretty much the sweetest girl you'll ever meet. Which is why she wasn't angry at me when I asked her if I could post her birthday present months late due to a lot of silly reasons, and why I'm so glad that we're friends :D.
02. Don't Be Shy - Cat Stevens
Making friends over the Internet can be a scary business! Luckily, after I bumped into Fiona over at the Doctor Who Friending Meme, she was not freaked out (or maybe she was and hasn't told me, haha) when I rather exuberantly declared we were musical soulmates because of our similar musical tastes. Usually when one of us mentions a song, the other will have known it, and probably loves it too. Thus, musical soulmates ♥.
03. You Can't Hurry Love - The Concretes
I don't know what it is about this song, but whenever it comes up on my iTunes, I always think you'll probably like it, hee.
04. The Wake Up Song - The Submarines
I put this one in your mix because due to the time different between Canada and the UK, I usually get your messages or see your posts after I've woken up! And they're always such a nice thing to wake up to :).
05. La Meme Histoire - Feist
Another thing Fiona loves is Jean-Pierre Jeunet, and French films in general, of which we have fangirled mightily over together. This song from Paris, je t'aime, reminds me of that, and all the lovely times we've had together talking about Jean-Pierre Jeunet and Audrey Tautou and Gaspaaaaaard!
06. Five Years Time - Noah and the Whale
I was trying really hard to think of a song by The Weepies I could put on here, because that was one of the bands we first fangirled over together! But I thought you'd probably have most of them, or that they weren't exactly fitting with the mood of this mix. So I put Noah and the Whale in instead, because they remind me in some ways of The Weepies, it's an adorable song, and you're adorable, so it all fits :D.
07. Strawberry Swing [Live] - Coldplay
Coldplay, but of course!
08. Girls Just Wanna Have Fun - Cyndi Lauper
I know you already have this song Fiona, but I couldn't help myself! This song always reminds me of you and our A2A squeefests.

10. Vacances 31 - Les Cowboys Fringants
Another thing you might know about Fiona as that she is an incredibly talented francophone, c'est vrai! Les Cowboys Fringants are Quebecois and sing in French, and I'm Canadian, and Quebec is by the Atlantic ocean, so they are like a... bridge? For our friendship? Even though you might not have heard of them? LOL. This made a lot more sense in my head when I made it back in April XD.
