in charleston i bought an electric harpsichord that unfortunately features an extremely loud fan but does not feature music-making. there is a trapdoor, however, in the back of the harpsichord and if you open this secret trap door the extremely loud fan becomes, instead, a moderately loud fan. i also purchased a cookbook titled "joys of microwaving." i put the cookbook on top of my microwave. specifically elon and generally anyone who likes food: if you are reading this, please come over and i will cook you dinner. in the microwave.
i also purchased these books: the witch of blackbird pond, of mice and men, the unbearable lightness of being, a wrinkle in time, the heart is a lonely hunter, a swiftly tilting planet, the time traveler's wife, how to see and read auras, the giver, the complete book of palmology, ninja mind control (yes), three by flannery o'connor. did you like my list of books? now i will never have to leave my apartment again if i don't want to, for at least three weeks.
if you liked my list of books i bought, you might like my list of records: kiss me kate, stars on longplay, great hits of the sixties, joan baez, parisian mood. (parisian mood!)
also if anyone would like to come over and listen to parisian mood while drinking red wine, or maybe sit around and read while drinking delicious teas, let me know.
in charleston i also found a ring to complete my Set of Four Slender Gold Bands for my left hand. i immediately lost the fourth ring, but i got my watch-inside-a-marble necklace back, so.
charleston is like a game where i pretend that i don't have a job or go to school and we just drink tea and sleep till noon and do speed and watch movies and talk and talk and talk and then maybe drive around and i also pretend that i have lots of money and zero bills when sort of the opposite is true. while i was there i was so upset that i wasn't always there that i gave myself a stomach ache.
kennedy i miss you already
