→ the next generation
In every person's life, there are a few defining moments that helped shape them into who they are, some more than others, some in positive ways and some in not-so-positive-at-all ways. For Kurt Hummel, there are many: the day his mother died when he was but eight years old and had to learn to move on with only his father as his stronghold, the day he came out to the Glee club and felt accepted for the very first time, the day Dave Karofsky's bullying and sexual harassment drove him away from everything he had grown to consider home; I could go on for hours. But among those, there are four days in particular that are perhaps the most significant, the most pivotal moments of Kurt Hummel's life.

The first was a chance encounter bred from luck, hope, and just a pinch of desperation. The day Kurt snuck onto Dalton Academy's campus to spy on their Glee club, the Warblers, effectively changed the course of his life completely. How?

It was the day he met Blaine Anderson. Blaine, who became the first person to take him by the hand and lead him somewhere magical beyond the imagination. Those were troubled times for Kurt, and Blaine paved the way for a new safe haven, somewhere he could relax and feel at home. Karofsky's harassment may have been the catalyst, but it was only one of countless things wrong with Kurt's life. He was suffering to the point of drowning, and it was Blaine who pulled him out of the water.

It was the day Kurt fell in love.
