Science makes me feel tingly in my lady parts. (Because I guess ALL of my parts are lady parts.)

I just saw the most horrifying Teen Wolf gif. WHAT THE ACTUAL FUCK, TUMBLR? WHY DO YOU DO THESE THINGS TO ME? Anyway, this is not about how Tumblr is apparently trying to smoke me out via Teen Wolf gifs or something, this is about BATMAN. I know, you're all surprised ( Read more... )

was the teen wolf gif something with an eye? i haven't seen it, but several people on my dash have been freaking out about people not tagging that shit, heh.

i like bruce SOMETIMES. i seem to recall liking him in the cartoon, at least? and i generally like his public persona, although his angsty sitting at home with alfred persona makes me want to bitchslap him sometimes.

YES. Oh god. Just. Just don't go looking for it. I mean, the other gifset of whoeveritis being devastatingly gorgeous while washing off blood in the shower is fine. The one with things erupting from his eye is not. Bleh.

I think you make a good point. And I agree with Em, that I actually kind of like Bruce in the Nolan movies, but that's probably because he's not screwing up the lives of impressionable young children in them.

ALSO i am surprised there aren't votes for 1989 batman. until the dark knight, it was definitely my favorite. (i haven't seen it since i was a kid though. so maybe wee!lisa just had terrible taste.)

(YES, HAD, PAST TENSE.)

WHATEVER. I'VE SEEN YOU DISPARAGE SCIENCE JUST THIS MORNING, SO THE JURY IS STILL OUT ON YOUR TASTE.

And I have '89 on my computer, if you want to revisit it. :p It's actually not that bad. And I liked Michael Keaton more than I thought I would.

I WAS MOSTLY DISPARAGING YOUR FACE :P

i might steal it from you!

and just to consolidate! i like bruce in the dark knight too. it's interesting to watch him struggle with wanting a normal life with rachel. i'm not a bat!expert (obvs) but i don't think that really gets addressed enough, that batman took over bruce's life and now he doesn't know how to get away from it. it's not really something you can do by half, you know? and i know that feel. i was actually sad for him when his hopes of harvey making batman unnecessary were killed :/

I KNOW. It's like he'd finally had the time to realize how deep he'd gotten in and that he was never going to be able to stop. And then he had that moment I have a lot, where the idea of doing something over and over every day of his life made him kind of freak out. Though, to be fair, with me it usually happens when I think about like, taking medications and going to sleep with the same person, and not putting on a big animal costume and stalking about in the dark. If there's anything I am it is NOT a secret furry.

i could really get behind more exploration of THAT bruce. what happens when bruce decides to put his needs before gotham's? (he adopts a bunch of orphans and ruins their lives, etc etc.)

how does bruce wayne feel about you calling him a furry?

I lovelovelovelovelovelove Batman Returns like no other, but I just could not get into Jack Nicholson as Joker in Batman. Joker was my favorite character for a very long time, but that's based mostly on comics and the Mark Hamill Joker.

I also wasn't allowed to see the first two Batman movies as a kid (I was pretty much banned from seeing Returns when I was 9, but I think it would've freaked me out, anyway), so I didn't see Batman and Returns until my 20s.

i liked batman returns a lot, but it's another one i haven't seen since i was a kid! i'm not sure if we were into the adam west batman before or after my mom let us watch the movie (i was only 5 when it came out, and i'm pretty sure we weren't obsessed with it til my little brother was old enough to watch it) but either way it just completely saturated my childhood so now i can't tell if i legit love them or if it's just nostalgia.

Oh man, I think the Adam West Batman reruns on TBS were pretty much my first exposure to Batman. I watched BTAS, too, but the 1960s Batman, whoa. We go back. Re-watching it was... pretty terrible, but it's fun at the very least.

And then I was head over heels for Batman Forever. I had the soundtrack and the VHS and everything. And then came Batman & Robin, which put me off Batman until Batman Begins. George Clooney might have been the worst Batman ever.
