It's been a while...
I'm trying to remember why I haven't been writing for so long, I guess I just tend to get too busy and forget. I do enjoy daily writing about my mundane life, though, it's almost like a good puke after a hard night of drinking. You always feel better and are glad you did it afterward, even if the buildup was long and agonizing. So Josh came home 2 months ago. Wow, doesn't seem like that long, but, yeah, he's been home more than 2 months now. We went to Disneyworld over New Year's, and since then it's been back to the grindstone, work work work for me, and he's just recently started back to work but is making up for all the time off. He's working this entire weekend. It stinks but what can you do? At least I can get caught up on some house work while he's gone. I hate doing housework when he's home cause I feel like we should be spending quality time together every second that we are together.
So Drew has now transitioned over into the boy stage, he's no longer a little boy. He went to the dentist a few weeks ago to have a cavity repaired. I felt like the wicked witch of the west for making him do it, but we can't let his teeth rot out of his head like some parents do, now can we? Speaking of which, one of my patients the other day had such rotten teeth that he was going to have to undergo general anesthesia and have every tooth removed from his mouth. Dentures at age 7. Way to go Mom, way to go. It's called a toothbrush, buy him one. I almost threw up when the kid smiled at me. Not even I could hold my plastered on smile, I said, "Good Lord what have you been eating? Syrup with sugar on top?" before I could stop myself. I think if that were my child I would have myself flogged. Daily. With barbed wire. So nasty, and so preventable.
