Tis the season....

Hard to believe that Christmas is only 13 days away and hubby's b-day is in 3 days! Well, it's been a long time since I've updated....let's see, we made a trip down to NC for Thanksgiving. Left on Thursday and came back on Sunday. Had a nice time while there, but we managed to pick up a virus or flu or something and brought that back with us.

Timothy has a bad cold, well, it's more his nose is raw due to being wiped a lot. If he didn't have a runny nose, he would be fine actually. Wayne was sick last Thursday and Friday again. I fell ill Saturday evening and was still sick on Sunday. Hannah came down with it Sunday morning, Micaela late Sunday night, Caitlyn on Monday evening and Sara was sick yesterday. Now, the older 3 girls had it quick. Once they threw-up they felt 100% better. Not the case for poor Hannah, who also ran a very high fever all day Sunday and Sunday was the poor girl's 3rd birthday! Which I will speak on in a minute. I'm hoping we are done with that nasty little bug!

We had our first significant snowfall last Thursday! By the time all was said and done, we had about 6 inches. The girls went out to play in it on Thursday and Friday and had a blast!

As I mentioned earlier, Sunday was Hannah's 3rd birthday and she was sick. Well, for some reason, I had decided to celebrate her b-day on Friday, Dec. 6th. One reason is that Saturdays are busy for me because I grocery shop and prepare food to take to our church dinner on Sundays. The second reason was because of Sunday, I knew we wouldn't get home from church until about 4:30 or 5:00 p.m. and figured we all would be tired and not up to the even. Third reason, so I could get her b-day gift out of my room. We bought her a baby doll stroller and the box was a big one. I made her a Winnie-the-Pooh cake, which turned out so-so (not good at cake decorating), but it was good! She had fun opening her presents. She also got a tea set from Maw-Maw & Paw-Paw, which she loved too! Played with those two items for the rest of the day...lol!

I am currently nursing tendonitis in my left elbow. It seems that I irrated that tendon while kneading dough for cinnamon rolls one day. It's kinda weird because, I handle bread dough on a some-what regular basis. But for now, have to wait until that heals before doing it again which means I can't try any of the delicious bread recipes in the new bread booklet that I bought at a quaint countrystore while in NC....arrgh!

Well, just in case I don't get anymore entries made until after Christmas....I hope everyone remembers the true meaning of Christmas and let it fill your heart with joy that God sent his only son into the world that first Christmas morn!

Until next time....
Barb
