We busted our butts and got the house looking great. The storage rooms were cleared out and things put back on shelves in an organized looking fashion. The closets had things placed nicely, and refolded, they looked huge. I think that actually hurt a bit. She was blown away by the size of everything. To be fair our family is twice the size of hers at the moment. She made an offer on a different house yesterday. For $25,000 than we were asking for ours. And $18,000 less than we could've worked with given the time frame (we would have to show up to closing with a check but could break even before the move to VA with what we would save moving on post). She was very apologetic. I feel bad because I truly believe it would be a win/win situation and this would be a great house for her now and into the future.
Although she did say that she felt we were well worth every penny we were asking for and said that houses even in our price range were selling like crazy off Craig's list. Not that I've ever looked at it (I thought it was a big city thing?) so if anyone has words of wisdom about it I would be willing to give it a try.
