I am inclinced to believe that designation probably runs across a rather large swath of the Board.

Indeed. I also got Wit, towards the Dark end of the scale.

Not as Dark, but Dark is the major category. The Admiral, however, is a Comic. I thought he would have been a Wit for sure.

BCWYWF 2 suggests that both are possible, and that it depends on what facet is most active at the moment. ¬_¬

I agree - both are possible. It depends on whether he's Brooding, Being Silly, or Laying the Smack Down.
