Sarah Palin for VP! YES!!!
I want to take a moment to say how thankful I am about this... Everyday this week, I have prayed to God that Senator McCain would have the good sense not to choose "just another old white guy." I was pretty worried the day before, because I started to hear a lot about Tim Pawlenty and Mitt Romney. Governor Pawlenty is alright, I guess... but Mitt? I'll admit, I liked him back in January, but there's just been too much revealed since then about his policy and leadership that I don't like. If either of these guys were on the ticket, McCain may as well have conceded the election.
There are MANY female and minority leaders with REAL experience and REAL core values he could have chosen from, and Sarah Palin is, in my opinion, the best of the best. She's a strong leader and a true reformer who has already shown herself willing to stand up against corruption in her own party, much less the government at large.
Furthermore - not that I wish the Senator any ill, but - at John McCain's advanced age, there's a very good chance that Governor Palin could end up becoming Acting President, if not assuming the office itself.
Thank you, John McCain. I now have to make an actual decision, instead of just pushing the "Bob Barr" button out of spite. Heck, I *might* even change my affiliation after this one. :-)
P.S. Penn State 65, Coastal Carolina 7 ... Maybe next week we can play a real game?
