Bringing back old memories

Today was Francis Audia's funeral in New Castle, PA. I left home around 7 in the morning and arrived in my old home town close to 9:30. The procession was long and drawn out, but i didn't mind. I saw people i knew, but barely recognized....it's been so long. After the funeral, i went back to my old neighborhood and ate at our old neighbors' house. I don't think i blinked once on the way through my childhood town. It hit me deep seeing all these places where memories rushed through my mind again after many years of compilation.

Instead of sitting around on a porch all day, or for the hour i had left, i decided to go take the van and try my best to find people i knew. I drove past my old school, which has been remodeled. It looks so horrible on the outside, but i can't say much since i haven't seen it from the inside. First i went to Gino's house, and nobody was home. Sadly i got back into the car and headed toward Ryan's place. He wasn't home either, but i got to talk to his mom for a while. She didn't even know who i was at first. The last place i had time to stop was at Justin's house. I saw his dad working outside, and his mother, so i stopped and talked to them for a while. Justin is out west somewhere with Jeff for a few days. It disappointed me that i couldn't find either of my three best friends from my old town. I felt like driving through Pearson Park and seeing if i could recognize anyone, but i didn't have time...

So much has changed.....

We stopped in Greensburg on the way home to see my grandfather, who was in a nasty bike accident and twisted his right ankle completely around. He seemed to be doing alright. Well, i kinda just got home, and it's the 4th of July, and I'm not allowed to go do anything.
