From a friend of mine:
For fans of the sci-fi series Firefly, its cancellation came as a bit
of a blow. The success of the movie, however, has prompted Universal
to consider restarting the series. In honor of this, and to add some
impetus to proceedings, June 23rd has been declared "World Serenity
Day", with screenings of "Serenity" around the globe. Well, I've
organized one for us here in Adelaide!
June 23rd, Academy City Cinemas, 7pm. Cost $10, to cover my costs and
to raise money for Joss Whedon's chosen charity, Equality Now.
I should have some flyers out soon. There are only 96 seats available,
but I'm not sure how soon they'll sell. I'm taking the chance anyway,
but would encourage everyone to come along!
