URGA MOTW
Star TrekAlthough I'm a big fan of science fiction, I've never really been much of a fan of the Star Trek franchise. My biggest problem with the show was entirely with regard to scale. Such as the "supernova" that threatened to destroy the "galaxy." Or the convenient essentially uninhabited neighbour planet, right next door to Vulcan (roughly 1 to 1.5 million kilometers away at a reasonably informed guess). And there were others which I won't go into because they will spoil the plot.

I really wish writers would look up the terms they use in writing science fiction movies and series to make sure they aren't using stuff that is inappropriate. Then again, it was ST:TNG that pioneered the infamous and deadly "baryon sweep"...
But I was impressed by the actors portrayal of their characters, particularly that of Chris Pine and his portrayal of William Shatner playing James T. Kirk. Spot on.
It was very much a character driven action story. Just ignore the plot holes, enjoy the ride, and don't think too much about it when it's over.

Yeah i agree with the rev and give it a 5/10 at most. The sushi machine in engineering was bad too.

Also, you don't understand black holes so well, if you saw a planet turned into one, it'd be the huge blast of radiation that'd hurt you moreso than the gravity
