The Internet is Really Really Great... For ?
Some people may have read about US Senator Ted Stevens's comment last week that "The Internet is a Series of Tubes" (Slashdot). As soon as I saw this, I was just waiting for The Daily Show's take on this issue.
I wasn't disappointed. This week, they got around to satirising it, and you can see that particular clip on YouTube. Watch it. It's brilliant.
If you don't like watching videos streaming into your browser, you can download YouTube (and Google Video, and other sites) videos using this handy dandy Video Downloader, although the FLV files (Flash Video) that YouTube ends up with on your hard drive are pretty crap. You'll need FLV Player or an older version of VLC Player to play them. At least with Google Video, you can download an AVI.
