Disney World Day 4

Feb 02, 2010 07:51

As I mentioned in my last post we visited Animal Kingdom. We got there just after the park opened. Note to self: this is a good idea. The lines aren't long yet and you don't have to stand in the lines waiting to get in the park.

Anyway, as usual I headed to Expedition Everest first. There was only about a 10 minute or so wait, but I still got in the single rider line. I just about walked on the ride. Today I only rode EE twice. After EE we headed to Africa and did the safari ride. We also walked through the Pangani Forest Exploration trail. At this point it was time for lunch. We were going to eat at the counter service place next to the Yak & Yeti, but it was raining. Instead we ate inside the restaurant. My mom got the tempura shrimp a I got the bourbon chicken.

After lunch we went through the jungle trail that's in Asia. We saw several tigers up and walking around. They are usually lying around sleeping. The bats were out, but they were tightly wrapped up in their wings.

We next saw the 2pm showing of Nemo: the Musical. It was a great show and it can still almost make me cry. Before leaving the park we saw It's Tough to Be A Bug 3D show.

It rained off and on yesterday. We bought rain ponchos so we didn't get completely wet. It's supposes to rain today too.

Last night I went to the campfire sing-a-long here at the campground. The rain stopped long enough for them to have it. Chip and Dale came up on the stage and then out into the audience. I don't know if you can really call about 8 people an audience, though. I had my picture taken with them. The singer sang a few songs, including Sweet Home Alabama. He had asked me where I was from. I thought that was pretty cool. Before the sing-a-long started I made S'mores.

I didn't stay for the movie. I went back to the cabin for a bite to eat. I also started packing my suitcase.

I wanted to do the wagon ride, but it was raining too much when I went over to where it leaves. I did stop raining before it left out, but I didn't feel like sitting on wet hay.

This morning we are going to Epcot for a little while. We don't have to be back at the resort until 3:20pm. That's when the bus is taking us to the airport.
