hpgw_ldws Harry knew there would be time to talk to Ginny. What he didn't know was how to begin the conversation.
He should have talked to her immediately after the battle, before seeing Dumbledore's portrait, sleeping for an entire day, and attending numerous funerals. He saw Ginny often, but she was always surrounded by family, leaning her head on her mother's shoulder, putting her arm around George. It reminded him of trying to get a date for the Yule Ball. How would he ever get her alone?

Harry awoke early, left Ron's room and crept downstairs. He saw Ginny curled under a blanket in the arm chair in front of the fire-alone! He approached her slowly and whispered, "Ginny?"
"Harry?"
"I've wanted to talk to you, but I could never get you alone. I hope I haven't already messed things up between us . . ."
"Why do you think you messed up?"
"I broke up with you, but I didn't want to, I just needed you alive so I could come back to you. And I'm back, and I'd like us to pick up where we left off . . ."
"We've both been through so much and changed so much, we can't just pick up where we left off."
Harry looked down at his bare feet. "Oh, okay then . . ."
"Why don't we start fresh and have a new beginning?"
Harry beamed upon seeing Ginny's mischievous smirk, "I'd like that . . ."
