Student Teaching

I don't remember there being horrible discipline problems when I was in fourth grade. I remember that it was fun and safe. Kids at the school I'm in get into fights, talk back to adults, and break rules more than I thought they would. I'm told that this particular group of students is a touch rowdy...but its discouraging to me ( Read more... )

Different schools have different cultures, it depends somewhat on how the school is run and somewhat on the demographics of the student's families. I'm sure you probably know this, though.

Also, morale, not moral.

I hope you don't encounter the horrible stereotypical kids that make everyone say we should be middle school teachers. I have my first field based class this semester, starting on wednesay I'll be in a middle school observing math classes, and eventually giving a few lessons. Very scary. Also, the school I'm going to completely bombed it's TAKS, to the point that they suddenly dismissed the principal over the xmas break and now have a new task oriented principal. This middle school is only 5th and 6th grade also, which is kinda wierd. What did they all do that made you take recess away? Also are you at your mom's house now? I want to call you but I don't know when to.

I will answer on her behalf since it will probably be next weekend before she is on the net again. During the week she stays at her mom's. She gets off work at 5, so trying to reach her around 6 should be a safe bet. On weekends she's at Will's.

I went to the school system she speaks of and it is often over-wrought with heathens, my nephews and nieces included. Her love of children may be never more.
