Merry Christmas, all! I am most grateful and honored that so many of you have chosen to join me here. I'll try to repay the favor by not posting five times a day about pointless things. (Rather, the pattern should be more like "once every few days or as needed, with only cool things.")
So here's your cool LOTR thing of the day, in case you haven't seen it:
A six-minute supertrailer of all three movies. Huge amounts of gloriousness and beauty. Glad I'm not the only one fond of condensing the stories.
Speaking of which: I've caved to the requests and have begun writing a Fellowship of the Ring condensed parody film script. No forecast yet on when it will be done. But I did want to take this opportunity to ask for suggestions. For example, my husband (radiofreecarbon) wants me to point out that Gandalf appears to be wearing the Sorting Hat. I've also decided that the Ring's propensity for whispering aloud in that film should be enhanced. Namely, I've given the Ring a voice, which resembles that of a slutty female - or a gigolo, I suppose, depending on how slashy you like things.
Other silly observations on FOTR are welcome. I can't promise that I will include all or any of them, as these things are subject to the flow of the piece and other wanky-artistic considerations, but I'd like to hear them anyway. At the very least, it should prove to be a funny thread! Thank you,
