From today's A Guide to Middle-Earth Page-a-Day calendar:
"[Of the seven Rings given to the Dwarves] Sauron was successful in recovering three of the Rings, and dragons consumed the other four."
Heh. "Dragons consumed the other four" may be a phrase I've never seen before. Wonder how many of Tolkien's university students tried that as an excuse for what happened to their term paper? "Dragons consumed it, sir. Honest."
A couple weeks ago, on a page regarding the history of Gondor, the first sentence was something like, "Castamir was cruel, and cared only for the navy." I had to choke down the Village People parody ideas, I'm telling you.
