Music rights

For those of you following the saga of (or even participating in) the Audio Drama version of the FOTR parody, the project's director Connemara has emailed me to say it's still going forward. One of her comments you folks might be able to advise upon:

We're still struggling on the music and there are a couple last minute recordings I haven't done yet. But things are moving forward, to be sure!

You wouldn't have any idea on the legal issues surrounding the non-profit use of movie music from LotR, would you? Because that is what we are looking into, as well as potential alternatives.

Hmm. My guess is that you really can't use Howard Shore's music in it, but if it's non-profit...I don't know, can you? Help us out here, music people.

Next up: a funn3h about movie posters!

P.S. Thank you for the input on shortened movie titles. I don't have any creative control over the short, so it won't be my choice in the slightest, but I've had a grand time giggling over them, and have sent the link to the producer for their entertainment and/or use.

lord of the rings
