Spending some time in the early 20th century...

About a day or two ago, my sister started sending me texts about the awesome hats in this show called Peaky Blinders and insisted I watched it, which I ignored (like I do whenever anyone recs a TV show because I'm stubborn and ridiculous like that). However, she started becoming extremely adamant, so I gave it a shot. If she'd told me it had Cillian Murphy playing a reticent, intelligent, somewhat tortured badass anti-hero, she wouldn't have had to work so hard. I watched the entire first season (since the Brits are making it, there're only six episodes! Six! It's a travesty!) last night and the two episodes that've been released for series two this morning and I'm totally in love. With his cheekbones and deep voice and amazing accent (hell, I'm not very knowledgeable about the accents of England, but the majority of the characters have accents similar to those in Life on Mars so I'm gonna call it a Northern accent and hope I'm not too embarrassingly wrong) Mr Murphy is seriously a rival of Mr Cumberbatch.

Hopefully, I'll be able to use this (and the fact that "I watched one of your shows!") to introduce my sister to Sherlock...However, I don't think that show has enough petty drama for my sister...
