Movie-ing

Saw the Hulk today. The character never appealed to me before, and I never saw the first (apparently failed) movie, but I must say that Marvel Studios outdid itself. Again. Which is a huge relief.

After seeing Iron Man, I thought that the AMAZING quality of that movie was just a fluke. Feeling a surge of optimism after that, my brother and I decided to rent a Fantastic Four movie assuming that our initial reasons for never seeing it were unwarranted. However, we were not impressed (I mean, Jessica Alba? Come on...). Then, we watched the Punisher which was actually pretty good. At least, it was tons better than I had expected it to be.

But I think that Marvel Studios has finally found its groove which makes me VERY excited. I now have no doubts that future titles like Captain America and Thor are going to kick ass. And the Avengers?  If casting choices like Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury are that perfect for all of the characters then the wait until 2011 will be totally worth it.

Anyway, the Hulk was an amazing movie. Still not interested in venturing outside my security blanket of Iron Man and Avengers titles (y'know, except for events like CW, WWH, and Secret Invasion) and the movie didn't endear the character of the Hulk to me (and Liv Tyler still reminds me only of Arwen, which was kind of annoying--she's only suited for one type of role, it seems, but then again I don't know much about her character...) but I have absolutely no regrets about seeing it. And Tony Stark's cameo? Simply fantastic. In my noobish opinion, I think RDJ makes the perfect Tony Stark.

Also, I think I might be the only one who won't mind Brad Pitt as Thor...

Yeah, I know. Shoot me now.

(Though, in my defense, I'm in absolutely no way a Brad Pitt enthusiast so my opinion is not biased in that respect...)
