I went to the lunch room for a bag of chips and noticed someone had put out a large bowl of chocolate-covered peanuts, at which several proper and officey ladies were pecking.
I scooped up a gigantic handful and stuffed my cheeks full as the women looked on in shock.
"I boke uh wid my byfend yesserday," I mumbled through chocolate and peanut.
Their faces completely relaxed into sympathy, and the candy bowl was proffered again.
