So I had a pretty mellow weekend. Ryan was down for a couple of days, and I just saw him off on the Greyhound bus back home to Peterborough. Sigh. Lordy, I miss him when he's not here. We had the best time, just watching movies, chilling at Starbucks (WARNING: do NOT try their new green tea frapawhatever; failure to heed this warning will ( Read more... )

Nice.

In HS, during the last performance of the school musical (Brigadoon!) one year, one of the actors was going through the public "thank-yous" to the director, pit orchestra conductor, etc. He meant to say, "Thank you to Mrs. Blah, our rehearsal pianist." Yep, he definitely belted out the word "penis" in front of a crowded auditorium. It was pretty funny :)

Hahaha, I don't even try! I just say, "Oh, I play piano," or "I'm a piano-player." Sure, it sounds less sophisticated, but better than such a faux pas, right?

My other instrument (or was, back when I did that stuff like "practicing") was the flute, which was another stupid-sounding one. Flautist? Bleah. Once again it was just, "I play flute."

flautist...when spoken sounds like flout which is to contempt or when done as an action, to commit a contempeous action such as strangling. so a flautist (i.e) floutist is a strangler.

I play flute too, and while i'm practicing, aka "practicing", I come up silly stuff like that. don't ask me why :)

I'm Umi Btw. nice to meet you. :)

Hey, a fellow flute AND piano player?! I played some piccolo, too, when I was in high school, but just flute in college. And now, I'm pretty much playing nothing, because of either laziness or inability to shell out the $$$ for a real piano.

I'm Meredith :) Originally from upstate NY, but now at University of New Hampshire working on my masters in zoology. Pleased to meet ya!
