One of the worst movies I've ever seen. According to this movie, if you're blind, you need a full-time nurse to bathe you, feed you and wipe your ass. I'm pretty sure that being blind doesn't impair your ability to wipe your own ass. Also, what the hell is wrong with the characters? Mark Ruffalo plays a misogynistic guy who cheats on his wife, the only person that can help anyone, and doesn't listen to a word she says. If she suggest something, he says no, if a guy suggests it, suddenly he's interested. And Juliane Moore's character is just as bad. She can see in a place full of blind people, but it takes her like an hour of the movie to finally kill Gael Garcia Bernal's character?! She had every opportunity, but instead she waits until after he rapes both wards full of women. Plus, if there are more than 2 wards in there, why didn't ward 1 and 2 gather forces and take out ward 3? The whole way through the movie, Chris and I were screaming at the characters because they were all such stupid assholes. All I could assume is that everyone in quarentine was a complete idiot before they went blind. There was not even one likable character in the whole movie, unless you count the little kid, because he never said anything. Everything I heard about this movie and book made me really excited. I really hope that the book wasn't this bad and I can just blame it on the director and screenwriter.
