We just got done eating pizza from
The Homemade Pizza Co., which just opened a place in Andersonville. Deeeelicious! We had it once before at John & Michelle's, but I didn't remember how awesome it tastes! If anyone has one nearby, I highly recommend it. It's the Papa John's concept of picking up an unbaked pizza and bake it at home - cheaper than delivery pizza, and much more awesome.
Last night we at at
Mia Francesca with Taylor & Carolyn - another great place. Very loud and crowded, but good nonetheless. What was not so great was waiting for the #22 bus for 35 minutes, not seeing a single one, and spending $13 on a cab to avoid being late for the restaurant reservations. Thanks much, CTA. Love ya.
Friday night was the
PILA Auction at DePaul, which Paul had been working feverishly on for the past few months. Despite a few last-minute freak-out moments, everything ended up going really well, and I'm pretty sure they raised a whole lot of money. As for ourselves, we walked away with quite a lot of stuff, mostly thanks to Paul's parents -- two tickets for any show at the Double Door, $25 at a restaurant in Wicker Park, $25 for Silver Cloud in Wicker Park, two Obama T-shirts, and a "spa treatment" at Polish Salon (that's polish as in nail polish, not as in Polish sausage - I think, anyway). It was a really good time, and I'm really proud of Paul for playing such a big part in pulling it all together, especially at the end.
I addressed *all* of our wedding invitations today! I started out doing them in gold pen, but it just wasn't working out - the ink wasn't coming out right, and they just didn't look good -- so I switched to a nice black pen, which looked much better. And now they're all done! I'm glad this wasn't as much of a chore as I thought it would be. Now comes the ink-stamping the RSVP cards, putting postage on the RSVP cards and the envelopes, and sealing everything. Who knew this would be such a process ...
How exciting was the Project Runway finale?! I'm glad, and not surprised, that Christian won. All of them put together really great collections, I thought, but especially given the judges, Christian's was definitely the most couture-focused. And I think V-Becks wants to leave D-Becks and run away with Christian. Or at least with his clothes.
I wish the wedding could be tomorrow!
