Election Day! I voted last week, so I'm just going to spend today curled into a fetal position waiting for it all to be over. If you have not voted yet and you need to know where your polling place is,
go here to find out.
Also, something that is unfortunately very important to know for this election, particularly if you live in a swing state, is the National Election Protection Hotline. If a poll worker or poll watcher attempts to deny you (or someone in line with you) a ballot, call 1-866-OUR-VOTE (866-687-8683) immediately.
So, I haven't been posting lately. This has always been mostly a fandom journal, where I talk about what I'm watching, and this year I've dropped nearly every new series I picked up.
Sunday
Watching: Homeland (my current favorite, but not a show I ever have much to say about). Also, I still watch The Simpsons every week, more out of habit than for any other reason.
Dropped: Revenge, for the most part. I still kind-of-sort-of watch, but mostly just as a way to kill time before Homeland comes on.
Monday
Watching: How I Met Your Mother, which I will apparently stick with until the bitter, bitter end.
Dropped: Revolution. Yeah, I did not care about ANY of those characters, and that was a problem, because I also don't care about the plot.
Tuesday
Watching: Go On (which has Matthew Perry, John Cho, and a streak of melancholy that appeals to me), Happy Endings (I...don't love this the way everyone else does? But I like it enough to keep watching), and The Mindy Project (not great, but I think it's getting better, and I do like Mindy Kaling a lot).
Wednesday
Not watching anything. I considered the new season of American Horror Story, but I think one season of that was about all I can take.
Thursday
Watching: 30 Rock, Parks & Recreation, and Elementary, a new show that I do in fact really enjoy every week, due to Johnny Lee Miller and Lucy Liu.
Dropped: Last Resort and The Vampire Diaries. (Mostly. Sometimes I turn to it after 30 Rock is over and watch the last half hour, just to keep up, but nothing about it this season has enticed me to actually pay attention to an entire episode.)
Friday
Nothing. I think I'll catch up with Fringe after it's over.
So yeah, except for a handful of sitcoms, I'm not watching very much TV at all, giving me nothing to post about. In Jan-Feb I get back Cougar Town, Community, Psych, and Justified, but I'll lose 30 Rock and Homeland.
This completely meaningless post has been brought to you in an attempt to not watch election news for a little while, because seriously, even I don't care about what I watch on TV that much, so I can't imagine anyone else does.
