I'd leave off Grad Day, Lover's Walk, Halloween, Grave, Passion, Amends, Doppelgangland, Add in some Selfless, TR, Intervention, Dead Things, New Man, Band Candy. Maybe some WAY.
Seems a little unfair the allowance of double episodes because of the names. So much of the later seasons are all essentially parts sequential big arcs (Sleeper/Never Leave Me, for example).
Dead Things! Yes! I knew I was forgetting something very obvious that would be in my top ten. WAY too. Ugh, there are too many episodes I love for a top twenty list. I'm on the fence with Dopplegangland and Lovers Walk - I really enjoy them both, but I could easily see them slipping out of my top twenty for some of my late season favorites.
I thought the list was, imo, a little off. I totally agree that FFL should have been in the top 5. Something Blue and Intervention should have been on the list and I don't think Normal Again, Amends or Restless should have been on the list. I also know that I am in the minority when it comes to Restless.
Let's face it, if you did a top 20 list in 20 different forums, you would get 20 different list and all of us wouldn't agree with about 90% of them. ~_^
Uh, no. The SyFy list is not like my list. Well, half isn't. For starters, Amends is my least favorite episode ever. I would watch Bad Eggs 10 times rather than go there again. Also, I'm not that big a fan of the season finales, Becoming being the exception. Also, there are several very good episodes wherein beloved characters die, and for that reason alone they will never be on my list of "favorites", no matter how excellent they are - Passion, The Body, The Gift, Seeing Red, Chosen. (Heh. I just realized that I said I liked Becoming right before I said I don't like watching beloved characters die. Clearly, Jenny, Joyce, Buffy, Tara, Amanda, and Spike are all more beloved to me than Angel.)
I did this list thing already, and while there may be a few things I'd adjust if I did it again today (namely, adding Lies My Parents Told Me), it's still pretty close to how I see things.
I actually like parts of Amends - even my non-Bangel-loving heart is broken by SMG during the hilltop scene - but it's nowhere close to being a top twenty episode.
I'm apparently okay with watching my beloveds die! Hee. I love both Chosen and The Gift, and they would be in my top ten. It helps a lot that both Spike and Buffy are brought back to life pretty quickly. Passion is on the borderline for me; I think it's a pretty strong episode, but I could probably kick it out of the top twenty without much thought. I have a surprisingly high opinion of Seeing Red, but it wouldn't be in my top twenty. The Body is such an outlier episode, so different from anything else, that I have a hard time ranking it.
The Body wouldn't be in my top 10. Nor would Amends. The former has many powerful moments but ultimately fails for me because I feel like it's Joss desperately trying to get an Emmie by showing he can write 'proper' drama as opposed to that silly genre stuff.
The latter I find cheesy and over-dramatic, like all season 3 Bangel. Yuck!
I have mixed feelings on The Body. It works for me, in that I find it a pretty powerful episode, but at the same time it doesn't really feel like an episode of Buffy.
I can't figure out how Amends even made the list, unless the Bangel fans mobilized to vote for it. And even then, it feels like there should be a stronger episode to showcase their 'ship in!
:blinks in disbelif at Restless only being ranked at #14: That's at least a top five episode! Ditto Fool For Love. And where oh where are Selfless and Lies My Parents Told Me
Grave and Graduation Day don't belong there either IMO, but maybe they just came to more peoples minds because of being season finales and more standouts than episodes from the middle of the season?. And LMAO at Amends being even close to the top #20

Right? I don't get it either.
I'm not really surprised to see Graduation Day there, even though it wouldn't make the cut on my list, because a lot of people do seem to love it. I'm a little surprised about Grave though, because I was under the impression that a lot of people did *not* love it. And if Becoming and GD got to show both parts of their two-parters, then why wasn't Grave paired with Two to Go? It's just as much a two-parter, they just have different names!

So very, very true! It's impossible to argue with anyone's choices, because it's all so subjective.
