lycomingst gave me "J".
1. John Watson (BBC version) - I adore this incarnation of Watson. He’s full of repressed pain and angst, while also being brave and loyal and wry. His quiet determination is the perfect balance for Sherlock’s over-the-top antics.
2. Jules Cobb - Jules, played by Courtney Cox on Cougar Town, is shown to be a woman with a lot of faults. She can be overbearing and pushy and it’s possible she MIGHT have a slight drinking problem, but she loves her friends and wants to take care of them, and she can be charmingly goofy sometimes, and the thing that makes her happiest is for everyone she cares about to be happy first. Plus, I can relate to wanting to sit down with a Big Carl of my own every now and then.
3. Jayne Cobb - Jayne should not be nearly as likeable as he is: He’s mean and dumb and crude and particularly in the beginning he appears to be loyal to whoever can pay him the most. But then there’s the scene in the pilot with him watching anxiously as Simon works to save Kaylee from a bullet wound, and he genuinely regrets his decision to betray the Tams to the Alliance (and not just because Mal almost kills him for it), and let’s not forget, he gets some of the best dialogue ever:
"Dear diary: Today I was pompous and my sister was crazy. Today we were kidnapped by hill folk, never to be seen again. It was the best day ever."
4. Jack Donaghy - Jack is everything terrible, but I love him anyway, though I can't really explain why. I think it's best to let him speak for himself:

5. Joan Wilder - The character played by Kathleen Turner in Romancing the Stone and The Jewel of the Nile. Joan is a successful romance author and a goodhearted woman who is loved by her friends, but her life is a little…dull. That is, until her sister is kidnapped in South America and Joan has to journey there to rescue her. I love characters who are more than they seem to be on the surface, and who manage to surprise even themselves with what they’re capable of, and Joan is a prime example of that, as she basically lives out a plot that could have come straight out of one of her own romance novels.
Since I was on Youtube anyway looking for Jack Donaghy clips, I also looked up the trailer for Romancing the Stone, and all I can say is that they don't make trailers like this anymore. Hello eighties!
