I graduated college in the pouring rain, cold and wet, covered in a free poncho which covered my $55 cap and gown. I didn't walk across the stage, I didn't receive any case for my diploma, I didn't shake hands with the President of the school. All I did was freeze my little ass off, stand up a few times, get 'blessed' by the President, and then huddled under MT's umbrella until FINALLY the abbreviated ceremony was 'over'. After Pratt's excuse for a graduation ceremony, my family and I went to Higgins, where they saw a snippet of my work and met some of my friends. Then J and E and I all took naps until it was time for the big dinner in Carroll Gardens. It was delicious and fun and really good to see my family all in the same place. My father made a speech that made myself and G break out in tears.
The night was spent at MT's house, partying. My cousin's came along, and Angela/Mark stayed over. Saturday me, E, J, and Angela all went to the Botanical Gardens and laid in the grass. That night was filled with burgers, beer, and good conversation. Angela left yesterday morning and I spent the late afternoon/evening at Dio's house in Queens barbecuing and playing beer games that remind me of high school.
Despite the rain, graduation weekend was good. I'm happy.
