I really am ok. Of course, I'm pissed off. BUT for burglars they were pretty neat about it. Our stuff wasn't tossed about and they didn't completely clean us out. They just took the nice stuff (which, with exception of some watches, was all mine). The only parts that aren't replaceable are my pictures and schoolwork saved on my lap top. I have a paper due on monday that I have to start over. Luckily, I had procrastinated and had only written 1 page. I normally email all drafts to myself just in case, and this time I didn't. I'm sure I would have if I had actually gotten further along in the paper. I also don't have renter's insurance. WHICH IS STUPID, and I knew it. I called the insurance agent right when I moved in to get it and they were out of power that day, I was supposed to get back in touch with them and hadn't gotten back around to it. I also was just thinking the other day that I would get Michael to help me back up all of my pictures and papers that I wanted to keep from my computer. Oh, well. Coulda woulda shoulda...
I keep telling myself that the reason why I went through school and got a decent paying job was so that I could have some money so that if something like this happened I wouldn't be up shit's creek. It's just hard to think about shelling out $1000 for a new lap top. I'm cheap at heart (drives Michael nuts!). I probably won't replace my TV or DVD player for my bedroom. Maybe I can hope for another digital camera for christmas.
