They give people salaries so they dont have to pay them over time I think.
Friday night I volunteered at the Hideout blockparty/Touch and Go Records 25th anniversary. When I got there, it was me and a whole bunch of rather old hipsters. It was weird. One woman informed me, as I had come from work and was wearing a skirt and button-down shirt, "Work, that's cool. That's like the new punk rock." She was serious.
I then "volunteered" by pouring/drinking free beer from 5 pm to 9 pm.
Ted Leo played. I'm pretty sure it was pretty great.
But I was completely wasted. Just completely.
I'm exited for the fall. I've gotten to wear hooded sweatshirts and flannel pajama pants. and stay in and watch A LOT of the West Wing.
My only remaning bike wheel was bent. Working Bikes (www.workingbikes.org) will get the remains and a donation as I purchase a new one from them.
I have been wanting to get my haircut since March.
