I'm commited to exploring the city. Seattle got small when I was a super busy student living on capitol hill. But now, living in West Seattle, I'm a lot more motivated to explore.

Friday night I went to the Husky Deli open house and ate meatballs and pineapple and honey. Then to Columbia City for this first friday music event called Beat Walk. There was jazz in a lighting store, zimbawbwean music in the art gallery, greek music at the bookstore, more jazz in an ethiopian restaurant and cuban music at el sombrero. The coolest was definitely watching piano jazz in a store filled with antique light fixtures.

Saturday, after another failed attempt to see my little sister, I stayed on the bus until I got off. Wandered around Phinney Ridge Craft Fair. Walked down through greenlake and visited 826 Seattle. Then back downtown to wait for a call from my old neighbors in the ID - they wanted me to teach them how to use their videocamera and drink their beer. Then a brief stint on capitol hill and my friend and i went down to georgetown to see this cool exhibit called Beasts! (thanks for the heads up in the form of a postcard mac! you should go see the exhibit.) then to madrona for art party where i remet people i should be friends with, met new people and discussed with great fervor the art of stenciling.

And Sunday morning to pike place where i bought a grapefruit and pretended i was a tourist. Then up to wedgwood, where i was glad to see john and elisa and mac, but was also reminded why i hate playing not-competetive games with competetive minded people. (it is here that my hatred of board games begins) My patience wore thin...probably because my life is so serene now, why would I want to get stressed out over a trivia night where all you win is t-shirts and appetizers?

And today i searched west seattle for a ham bone and failed. sad day. i just want to make the traditional ortiz mexican meal, which i didn't know would be so difficult.

All in all, it's nice to lead a quiet life - practicing spanish, working, being a homebody, visiting with friends in new-to-me neighborhoods, and learning yoga (which, for the record, is REALLY hard).
