[VOICE; ACCIDENTAL]

[Sound cuts in, maybe midway through the owner of a new journal saying something.]

[Noel happens to be in the plaza at the time, sitting by the fountain as she absentmindedly keeps to herself. Daydreaming about things? Possible, and hardly surprising.

With the beginning of this month, and having been here for over a year, Noel's already aware of village crowding because of the appearance of New Feathers. Unlike in the past where she would gladly help out any distraught person she could find, however, the previous experiment has kept her more... introverted.

More than usual, anyway.

What she didn't expect to see that day was a certain someone with familiar blonde hair walking down the path leading to the plaza. Her jaw comes close to dropping as Jin comes to view. Jin--n-no, Major Kisaragi!?

Instinctively, she jumps out of her seat. Even with her past experiences with Jin in Luceti... no, she can't just let him walk around like this and not know what's going on. That's just not right. because obviously, jin wants lieutenant vermillion's help, of all people.Placing that worry in the back of her head, she runs over ( ... )

[It's frustrating when one makes a threat or demand and no one answers, particularly when you are a Major in the military used to having several people below you that sometimes listened too well. So, the lack of response calling out the thief just boils a rage inside that keeps growing the longer he walks, the longer he realizes he not only has lost Yukianesa but also has lost the entire city of Kagutsuchi.

None of this made sense.

Too busy mulling it over and over he doesn't notice anyone familiar in the plaza and certaintly not the blonde haired girl with Saya's face. In fact, he instinctively is a little taken aback at her suddenly appearing (--don't you dare be here to get in my way--) but he manages to control himself in his response, especially when she addresses him. It's curious that she is here, now that he thinks about. He'd thought he'd be the only one once he had started wandering.

An acknowledgement of her presence, neither hot nor cold:]

...Lieutenant Vermillion. [Now, how the hell did you get here, of all people?]

[She stops when she draws closer to him, but still enough so that there's some sort of distance between the two of them. Major... it really is him, isn't it? There's so much she could say here. You'd think she could, considering the years she's known him now, but he always finds a way to make her uneasy, be it his cold gaze (or lack thereof) or harsh words.

However, now isn't the time to get all nervous. Besides... acting that way would probably only annoy him, and right now it seems they may have some sort of civil conversation (the first one in... uh, wow when was the last time?) considering his response.)]

Sir, um... it's been some time. Are you aware of where you are?

[He watches her closely, eyes narrowing a bit at her words. Some time? Where they are?

Is everyone in the know here expect him? that's Ragna's thing Jin wants no part of the "being-oblivious" club. He sighs, bowing his head to put his thumb and index finger across his head to rub at his temples before replying:]

Explain, Lieutenant. [He doesn't outright say no, but of course it's implied enough for someone like Noel who has been around him for so long.]

[It must be, then. Noel frowns. how the hell does she explain this]

I-I know this may sound crazy, but this place... it's not our world. It's called "Luceti," and... it's...

[...]

We've been sent here by a group known as the Malnosso to be used as experiments.

[...that was blunt, Noel.]

[Good job, Noel. He's been rendered speechless. Silent.]

You're correct, Lieutenant.

-It does sound crazy. [Which is not surprising coming from Noel. Still--]

Care to try again? You know how to give an official status report.

[...sob.] Ah... y-yes. I'll try to explain the best I can.

Um... as I've mentioned, we're currently in a village called Luceti. We've--all of us--have been brought here by a group called the Malnosso. They're scientists who intend to use us as experiments. [Can you tell how hard it is to stay calm by talking about it? At this point, Noel's more or less used to the explanation, but she's worried about the major's reaction.] They've brought in maybe hundreds of people by now... all of them from different worlds. [...] Th-There isn't even any seithr here.

[As you may have already noticed.]

[He notices her discomfort in relaying the information and for once isn't in the mood to scold her for being so goddamn obvious of how she felt. Then again, maybe she's afraid of him, which she should be because the frown on his face keeps dipping lower and his eyes narrow just a little bit more. It isn't that he doesn't believe her, but that the information is absolutely ridiculous and yet somehow most likely the truth.

Noel wasn't creative enough to make it up.

So, a bunch of assholes who think they know everything doing such things to people.

Despite his temper, he's amazingly able to control it (maybe the lack of Yukianesa is a good thing, he seems a bit more tolerant and patient with her today), only slight annoyance seeping through, for now.]

I noticed. [Thanks Noel, he almost missed that part re: seithr.]

Do we have any further information on this organization holding us captive besides their name?

[She's honestly a bit glad he's being surprisingly calm about all of this. Then again, this is Major Kisaragi--before all of this with Ragna and Kagutsuchi and everything transpired, he's always been known for being so level-headed... it comes in handy for these situations, no matter how ridiculous this one was.

It's been months, sure, but she can try to be professional for once.]

... Yes. Currently, the area we're in is closed off by a barrier the Malnosso set up themselves. There have been multiple attempts to break it, but none of them have been successful. They can also use the books we carry to monitor our actions, so there's times where we need to be careful about what we say over them... um, th-the books actually act as communicators, so you can use them to talk to others within Luceti.

[Is she forgetting something? ...yes, she is.] A-And also, the wings we have now are also because of the Malnosso. There's even a barcode in the back of our necks... o-oh, but sir, you shouldn't try to remove them! You'll seriously hurt ( ... )

[Malnosso is about to be parallel to the word terrorist in Jin's point of view rather than scientist. He listens, no interruptions, only looking annoyed when she particularly mentions the wings. Not remove them? Was she crazy? How could they possibly-]

Is there any idea what they use these... wings on our backs for?

[It's impressive, he thinks. He still can't stand her face (why won't you just stay dead like you were supposed to on that night-) but she is surprisingly knowledgeable of the situation here and Jin isn't about to throw something like that away into the trash.

Not yet, anyway, so don't let your guard down, Noel!]

[Terrorist is probably more accurate, given the situation.]

Unfortunately, there's not. People have had a few theories about them, but in the end... no one knows for sure. [There needs to be a better way to explain this to him. If she tried to think of everything, they'd be there a while... but then again...]

O-Oh! [She gets her own journal out. just assume she had it all along sob] Major... you have this with you, right?

[He does. He pulls out his own after a second, as well, although he's staring at it then at Noel, waiting for her to explain this, too. It's not every day Jin Kisaragi has a questioning look on his face. Especially not one seeking the explanation from his lieutenant.

He'd used it once already, but that was after it started accidentally recording itself. Jin's sure he could figure the whole thing out himself given a little time, but someone explaining it-even Noel-would be much quicker.]

[Okay, uh. She'll open her own and start flipping through the pages, trying to look for the one that will make this entire thing all the more easier.] About it... there's...

[...sorry, jin. She'll be distracted for another moment or two before she locates the right page, which is RIGHT NOW--] Ah! Here it is!

[And with that, she shows him the page containing The Guide..] Someone in the village wrote this a long time ago for all new arrivals to the village. It's a little long, but it contains all the information you'll need concerning this place, sir. I... I highly recommend reading it over.

[he flips through his own pages now, to match the one she's showing him, giving it a brief overview. In the meantime, more questions. Without looking up from his journal:]

Is there anyone else from our world here?
