Hey there!
Yes, I'm still alive.
The reason why I wasn't posting entries is that, well, University begun this week! I've had three of my five classes so far and they're all thrilling me! Especially Introdution à la Traduction. The teacher (who is more a "chargé de cours") is so nice, and the course itself looks fantastic. Translating a 200 words text every week as a homework and then analyzing it in class with everyone? Hell yes!
Then there was Préparation au thème I which, despite its name, is an English grammar course given in English (yeah, try to find the relation between that and the name...). It looks very interesting though, and I had the occasion to make a new friend there. The nice thing is, out of the 40 that we were in class, she was the one who seemed to be as fan of Harry Potter as I am lol That promises a lot...! She also wants to go training at the PEPS, and as I want to do that as well, we might go together. And she is not against the idea of playing tennis! Woohoo! Tennis! lol Ju, I don't know if you'd still want to train at the PEPS or at the Cegep... either way, tell me ^^ Oh, and when's your class on Mondays?
The last class, which was today, is Grammaire du français écrit. Despite being grammar (hate grammar rules, I've never learned a single rule and still managed to get 5-6 mistakes (spelling and grammar alltogether) out of a 2000-words text, without a dictionnary, SO), the class looks so cool! And the teacher's pretty nice!
There are only two other classes left... Le français en Amérique (sounds a bit to "History" for me... we'll see) and Le français: lexique. This one is quite.. strange to me, 'cause I know the book I have to buy, but heck, I don't understand the two main words of its title! (ok.. I haven't looked them up in a dictionary, but anyway!) The title is: Introduction à la lexicologie: sémantique et morphologie. Do you understand it? lol I know what each word mean (more or less), but I don't see the link between them... anyway...
Now, if the classes all looks really nice, the journeys to Uni and back home are quite... something. I saw twice (on my first two days) what was the traffic situation on the way back home (well, it's pretty mega-slow lol) but this morning.... THIS MORNING! Hell, it was more than slow! Getting to the Uni seemed to have taken forever! Lucky I left home a bit before 7am, 'cause it took me a bit more than an hour for a journey that takes about 30 minutes normally. For those who knows, I'm taking the Capitale Highway... At the Seigneuriale exit (you know, Wal-Mart, cinema...), I was completely stopped until a bit before my exit (du Vallon Sud) which is waaaay farer on the road. I was like looking at the clock everytime (I'm the kind of person who's really afraid to get at her classes late or right on time...). Lucky I had my music with me in the car. I got to Uni at about 8am, and I still had to look for my classroom (8:15). There was a note on the door: we're in another classroom... -_-* (8:30). Phew. Anyway.
I bought some of my books too (two classes: $200). There are only dictionnaries and grammars XD Still, I have a very good dictionnary now (Le Petit Robert 2007!). And with two others grammar/dictionaries, there was some CDs, including an English dictionary now installed on my laptop. And it works really great.
Other than that, everything went alright.
And I miss Keven. It's been too long since the last time we talked (4 days). gonna try to call him tonight... He started working night shifts, so I guess the best hour to call without waking him up is 6pm.
And I have some reading to do (oooh Articles and Nouns rules XD). And some translation to advance (I have all the texts to translate, might as well get a bit of advance... than, it'll be easier to re-read myself and see instantly what's wrong in the translation, right? lol). So well, 'till the next time, take care!
