Movies and Movie Recommendations

I haven't been watching as many films lately...but I've got some to share.First, The Guest. This movie is kind of an action, sci-fi thriller thing and I honestly can't stop thinking about it. It's a lot different than You're Next - which has SUCH A BADASS FEMALE CHARACTER. But I honestly respect the main female character, Anna, in this movie. It's got some great action scenes and a great soundtrack (IMO). I saw this movie weeks ago and I basically can't stop thinking about it and how it could make a really cool videogame if you took advantage of one aspect (trying not to spoil).I recommend seeing it at least once - it's kind of unique but derivative?

A Girl Walks Home Alone At Night - Did I even get this title right? It's kind of a quiet but intense movie. I've seen vampire movies that I enjoy more - but I think it's so much more than that. I have the feeling I missed some cultural references or perhaps I got distracted too much by my phone (again quiet movie). BEAUTIFUL MOVIE THOUGH. Like black and white is so dramatic with the light and the shades of grey and black. I also liked the soundtrack - not as much as The Guest - but still liked it. I think it's a movie that's good to see once just because HOLY SHIT it's so important.

The Babadook. Yeah. I saw this movie back in December. My pre-ordered special edition ( I ordered way back in February - when I started my internship) is supposedly arriving tomorrow (The Monday of my last week in the internship). It's also on Netflix right now. This movie. Honestly, this is such an INTENSE MOVIE. I nearly peed in fear. Not because something popped out and scared me - but the sheer primal almost demonic energy that Essie Davis brings in her role of Amelia. ESSIE DAVIS IS AMAZING - AMAZING - AMAZING. It's directed and written by Jennifer Kent.

SO FEMALE HORROR DIRECTORS FOR THE WIN.

recommend, scary; movie;, awesome, movie
