Subject: Important: May apply to you or someone you know
Body:
So, since the end of February, I have been seeing someone, who shall remain nameless, in a long distance type thing. He was "perfect" at first. Then he started getting mean, and possessive. Snide comments, "signing off" on AIM when I said something he "didn't like", basically acting like a 13 year old girl. He got angry when I went out, and jealous of everyone, not just my guy friends. I tried to play it off as "cute". He started getting meaner. I was attached at this point, and didn't know how to deal with it. My friends and family gave advice, but my logical side wasn't getting a say. But I knew I had to get out of it.
Today, I FINALLY stood up for myself. He couldn't handle it, said harsh things, and it ended. I am SO thankful and happy that he is now OUT of my life. I know I didn't deserve to be treated like that. NO ONE does.
If you are in a situation where someone treats you badly, listen to your logical side. Listen to your friends and family. NOBODY is worth it if they treat you like shit the majority of the time. The "good times" don't outweigh ALL the bad. I promise you this.
I'm not writing this to "get back" at him. I'm not writing this out of spite. I'm writing this because I learned the hard way, and I don't want to see any of my friends go through that.
I'm proud of myself for getting out before he "moved/visited" (like he promised so many times), because I know it would have just gotten much, much worse.
Thank you to everyone who stuck by me, gave me advice, or just listened to me bitch.
Thankfully, now, I can look back at everything he said or did, and it just makes me laugh.
To quote Jenny Lewis, "No good, no how, no man should treat you like he do. So come on right now, it's time for you to get up and out of his house.."
AND, "Oh, it feels good to be free!!"

I have a friend going throgh something similar - I sent this to her :) I'm really proud of you Sara, it seems like you are getting rid of the toxic parts of your life, and starting to realize how much you are worth, and how much you can really accomplish. <3
