snowzilla
Everyone is calling the storm names like snowpocalypse or snowzilla or something. I'm sure it can't be that bad!
I was down at Beau's apartment for the weekend. Not only was I on my period but I dunno, maybe it was this this thing I ate, but my stomach felt absolutely terrible on Saturday! And we were originally supposed to go to Michigan to Beau's parents' house to pick up Aidan so he can go back to school this week, but they called us and offered to meet us halfway around Benton Harbor so we didn't have to go all the way there. I was a little bummed just because Beau's dad is a mechanic and he is supposed to fix my car. Not a huge problem I guess. Not sure when it will get fixed, though. The pump for windshield wiper fluid doesn't work, so if someone splashes my car with dirty snow and I use my wipers, it gets so smudgy I can't see! It's really bad for expressway driving. I have to pull over and clean it with snow.
Anyway! I didn't even go to Benton Harbor because my stomach felt so bad I had to go to the bathroom twice before we even left town and I just had Beau drop me back off at his place. It was really sucky because I had to wait maybe 4 or 5 hours for him & Aidan to come back. But he had tons of dirty laundry everywhere and desperately needed to do it, so I decided to do it all for him while he was gone. And then I caught up watching the rest of The Legend of Korra season 2 online while I waited for them to come back.
Beau's parents gave him a huge set of dishes from some family member who wasn't using them. They were in someone's basement in boxes. So the dishes are quite nice and there are settings for at least 10 or so people. It's because when Beau's parents were visiting a while back and they saw his dishes, they said why was he using crappy plastic ones (>.<) or something like that. So because Beau basically has all new dishes, he decided to give me his old ones. So now I have tons of cups and plates and a few bowls. I only had 4 plates before and a few cups so it's probably a good thing. But I really don't think I need so many dishes!
I think I'm coming down with something. I might go to bed early tonight. And I should probably wake up early because I heard all of the snow is supposed to be drifting a lot due to winds. The roads could be really bad in the morning. It usually takes me around 2 hours to drive home from Beau's place but it took me about 3 hours today because of the snow. It snowed all last night, about 6 to 10 inches. It was all over my car and Beau's parking lot. At first I was afraid I wouldn't be able to leave there lol because the snow was so deep in the parking lot I would have gotten stuck. But thankfully they plowed it before too late and I left his place after lunch. I usually wake up at 6 AM and leave for work by 6:45 but I might have to wake up at 5:30 tomorrow... hmmmm.
Oh, I forgot to mention that my brother & his family moved to Germany yesterday. My brother is in the Air Force and his new assignment is 4 years in Germany. He was in England for 3 years and Korea for 1 year already. I never got to visit him at either place... if possible I want to save money and visit him in Germany. It might take me 2 or 3 years but I want to at least try. It's been a dream of mine for a long time to visit Denmark because my great grandfather came from there... Denmark is attached to Germany and I would like to visit both. I used to have a pen pal from Germany in elementary school and again in high school, plus the exchange student in my class at my high school was from Germany... I have a lot of friends from there and friends that studied German in school, but I don't know any German at all (T^T)
