First day of teaching this semester is complete! I only taught 5/6 graders today. Oh man.... today it was so funny. I hate those Eigo Note books but there was this one audio track in the listening exercises about countries which made me laugh SO HARD. The thing that made me laugh was just..... he does NOT sound like an average Australian to me even though that is where he is supposed to be from.... I thought he sounded like a talking fish.... lol.... the other audio files were pretty bad, too.... they're all so cheesy but this one just cracked me up and I laughed until I cried.  And the homeroom teacher played the track MULTIPLE TIMES on purpose I think because the kids were staring at me laughing so hard and I said nooooooo not again hahaha.

LISTEN to it.  I have uploaded the file for you.

Listening to it now it's not that funny.  But pretend you are teaching a class of 30 kids, age 12, and trying to be at least a little serious about English, when a ridiculous audio track like this is playing.

.......

In other news, I got my gift from the exchange.  I would have gotten it sooner if I'd gone to the enkai last month but as it was I got it today.  It was a wreathy thing with a dangly snowman made out of felt.  Kind of cute and tacky.  And there was a box of cookies.  Amazingly, they are Jacobsens Bakery cookies, which are the very same Danish cookies my grandma always used to get at Christmastime that I absolutely LOVE.  I was soooooooooooo excited when I opened the cookie tin.  I have already eaten like 7 of them and I'm afraid I won't be able to stop myself from eating more tonight.  Ahhhhhhh natsukashiiiiiiiii.

school, asasho, food, australians, funny, eigo note, family, natsukashii
