発見!

冬のコート発見!
電気代発見!
7-11に行くと。。。もしかして、そこで。。。トイレットペーパー発見!

I am kind of obsessed with the Japanese word 発見. It's pronounced "hakken" (hak-KEN) and it means "discovery", "detection", or "finding". It is often used after the word for the thing you've discovered. Rather than saying "I found some cookies," it's like "cookies - FOUND!" I like this kind of statement.

The list above is true for my day.

Winter coat - FOUND!
Electric bill - FOUND!
When I go to 7-11... perhaps there will be.... toilet paper - FOUND!

Where did I find my electric bill? Among the unread newspapers piling up with my shoes in front of my door. And when I found it, I also discovered an unread letter from my dear Emily. But since it's possible my electric bill is late I am going to 7-11 immediately to pay it.
