It's Obon so naturally it's just me and 2 other people in the whole building, just holding down the fort. Ridiculous.

Today is good though because 1) I was given three peaches and 2) I was informed that my town actually has a bakery (and they told me where it is) and of course 3) I can use the internet at work mwahahaha.

I plan on checking out the bakery on my way home from work. Apparently it's quite close by. I know it's silly but in the beginning I used to take lots of walks around my town, but now I hardly ever do. I think walking or riding bikes is a good way to spend some alone time and do quality thinking. But I don't really have issues with that because I pretty much have alone time all the time. Maybe that's why I stopped. Anyway I feel a little sad about that lately and I think I may start up again. I'm thinking about buying a bike but rather than getting a new one I want to see if anyone knows someone that wants to get rid of a used bike. One thing about Japan is that garbage pickup is great but people don't really have yardsales here and you have to pay money to get any big garbage picked up, so people often hold onto things like bikes rather than get rid of them, even if they don't really use them or want them anymore. I will hopefully find one but if not it won't be too expensive to get a new one. I figure I still have another year in my town so I might as well just get a bike. Starting to wonder why I never got one before.

I have been told that some of the fireworks this weekend will be 60 cm in diameter!! I'm pretty impressed. Excited to watch them on Sunday night :) looks like the rain has finally stopped around here so it should be a nice weekend. I plan on finally taking my camera to Koriyama tomorrow to get my lens fixed.  I also have some used clothing that I want to get rid of so I'm thinking about taking some with me to the used clothing store to see if they will buy it from me.  I have a whole suitcase full but I might as well just take a bit of it because if they don't want it then I don't want to have to carry it around with me all day.
UPDATE: Found the bread store.  There was a sign on the door that said they will be closed until the 17th.  Silly Obon.
