The last time Lucy & I had a weekend like that we mostly were cooking and watching movies.... this time I ended up helping her pack a lot of things. We went through all her clothes and I helped her pack breakable things in bubble wrap. She's going to grad school in Colorado in the fall, but between now and then, she's going to backpack through Europe. I can't help but thinking that she's lucky and I'd love to do that...... but I guess I'm being too practical right now. I could do that. I have saved enough money. I'm going to pay off about half of my student loans this summer, though.... at least that won't be looming anymore. Once that's done, maybe I will get a new laptop or something. This one is from 2006 and the disc drive is broken which is really inconvenient. When Lucy bought the camera she used the points from it to get the SD card for free.... so I'm thinking about buying a laptop in a few months and using the points towards a DS or something. That would be sweet.
Last night I went to Jintei's with Lucy..... apparently it's the best tonkatsu around and it's baked.... we waited over an hour outside but it was a pretty awesome place. Not very big, which is why the wait was so long. The menus are written on fans (sensu). She got the pork special and I got the chicken special. It's baked katsu instead of fried. It was ham and cheese inside the meat.... pretty intense. I was at the height of my cold and I could hardly taste things at first, which I think was a sad waste. My medicine kicked in after a while and then I could tell that it was delicious lol. Mouth-breathing while eating sucks.
This morning we had chocolate chip pancakes and all sorts of horrible things. I really felt like poo though. I wanted to go to church but ended up running late. Lucy said she wanted a new camera for her trip to Europe so I said I had time and I would go to Yodobashi Camera with her and help her get one. She wanted to ask a bunch of questions about which camera took the best night pictures, etc. She ended up getting a Fuji one. It has a touch-screen menu, pretty sweet. There is a mode that allows you to touch the screen where you want the focal-point to be in your photo.
Turned out to be a good thing that we went because I asked the clerk about my camera. There's been something in the lens for a couple of months now and I really need to get it fixed. Apparently they will probably do repairs on it for free if I bring in the receipt, because I bought it there less than a year ago. I'm pretty sure the receipt is in the camera box.
Lucy & I said goodbye and I went to my train and fell asleep on it haha. Tired. I feel like sleeping more.
She invited me to this party for all the leaving JETs. I don't really want to go because the theme is ABC - "anything but clothes".... and because everyone will probably be insanely drunk there. Not sure I want to hang out with half-naked drunk people. It might be my last chance to see Lucy, though. Hanging out with Lucy would be worth it. I told her I would try to go but it's in Fukushima so I'd need to stay over night somewhere.
